Justin Rose wins 2017 Turkish Airlines Open for Back to Back Titles

Justin Rose made a 10-foot birdie putt on the final hole to win the Turkish Airlines Open in Antalya, Turkey, by a shot on Sunday for his second straight title on the 2017 European Tour, moving him close to fellow Englishman Tommy Fleetwood in the Race to Dubai standings. Rose shot a 6-under 65 in the final round to finish on 18 under par 266 overall, securing victory a week after taking the WGC-HSBC Champions title in Shanghai. Nicolas Colsaerts had the chance to take Rose to a playoff but rolled his birdie putt on the 18th just left of the hole, moments after Rose had holed from two feet further out. Colsaerts had birdied Nos. 15, 16 and 17. Colsaerts (66) and Dylan Frittelli (64), who chipped in three times in four holes during his round, were tied for second. Justin Rose was crowned the 2017 Turkish Airlines Open champion with a final round of 65. The tournament was decided on the final hole, where Rose pulled clear with a closing birdie leaving him a shot ahead of Nicolas Colsaerts and Dylan Frittelli at 18 under par at the Regnum Carya Golf and Spa Resort for his second win in two weeks. Rose, who won the 2012 Turkish Airlines World Final and last week’s WGC-HSBC Champions, said: “It’s incredibly sweet. It’s like a bus. You wait for ages for one, and then two turn up. “It was lots of fun. Before I have won with two putts on the last green and it was unique to make a putt that really counted on the last hole.” The Turkish Airlines Open is the third last tournament on the European Tour’s Race to Dubai and has a prize fund of $7 million. Kaymer and Lowry Crowned Turkish Airlines Drone Golf Champions. The Turkish Airlines Open is taking place at the Regnum Carya Golf and Spa Resort in Antalya, Turkey. Martin Kaymer and Shane Lowry warmed up for the prestigious European Tour tournament with a drone victory, by beating Ian Poulter and Henrik Stenson 2-1 to win the Turkish Airlines Drone Golf Championship, now in its second year. Kaymer and Lowry also beat Lee Westwood, winner of last year’s inaugural event to take the title. The course was once again set on the Regnum’s iconic 16th hole, which has a tee on the roof of a villa, with players having to guide their drone through hazards before dropping the ball on the green.
